Access Issues
It won't let me login!
If you unsuccessfully login more than three times, you will be locked out of the administration area. This prevents you logging in again for another 5 minutes. This was reduced from 15 minutes. A word of warning to would-be-hackers .. TK logs the transaction including the IP number of the person trying to access the system. In a case of a hacking atttempt N4B identifies the ISP and passes it on. In the past transgressers have been threatend with the removal of all telphone and internet access - ths has been enough to stop the problem. A CMS is a powerful tool - it needs good security! TK delivers that.
This is a security feature to prevent bots trying passwords until they find one that lets them in.

How do I set the homepage of my site?
Within TurnKey you can specify which page or item is first shown when people come to the site without a specific page in the URL.
To assign this item, find the item in the Item Manager in TurnKey Admin.
Then click on the item to view the Item Properties screen. At the bottom of the form is a checkbox, "Use this Item as the Start Page for the Site". Make sure this box is checked, then click continue.

I change the content in the editor and save it but it doesn't come out on my website?
his is the most asked question we receive from new users and the answer is of course at the beginning of the User Guide. Web browsers cheat by not checking for a new version of the page and simply showing you the last one you looked at. MS Internet Expolorer is deft at this. In IE go to TOOL, and then INTERNET OPTIONS, then TEMP file and select "check for a newer version of the page on EVERY VISIT. When you are editing pages in the admin [using preview] you will always see a non-cached copy. If the browser setting are incorrect then you won't. If the problem still exists then try "refresh site".
I can't seem to upload images, I put in image file path and then press upload to server? I then try to find url on the server (button) with no response.

Functionality in the Item Manager is accessed by left clicking on the item name. A menu will appear with the actions you can take based on the type and status of the item, and your permissions on it.
You can also move items by dragging the item icon to another item's icon.
How do I quickly find a page to edit in the admin?
On the top right of the admin is a "find" tool. Simply type in the page name you wish to go to, select it from the drop down and ... you are magically transported there. works on users too when you are in the user manager and does other cool things in other modules as well.
The menus I see in the admin are not the same as those I see on my site. How do I get them in sync?

Where is the Multimedia News Module?
In TK7 we have combined the version of the news modules so that there is now only one. So .. no more multimedia news module ...the news module is multimedia compliant as well.
Page icons can be dragged around but don't always return to original position.
TK7 uses a new version of the site tree. This is because we have been asked by many uses to both add functionality to the site tree, such as drag and drop, while retaining the ability for it to work across browsers and platforms. The site tree application we are using has all of the functionality we require however at the moment it does seem susceptible to problems where the user has an older machine with a slower processor or limited amounts of ram. We are mking changes to it on the fly to improve the way it works. Please let us know how you find it over the next couple of weeks.We have other versions we have tested which are less processor demanding however they also have less functionality.

I tried editing the html in the the page template in the theme editor on saving it comes up with an error message?
We have had a couple of annoying issue in the theme editor. Annoying because it only ocurrs in a few browser versions. In some browsers the the code or the changes to the code we not being saved. This problem has now been fixed.
