Translation Project Manager

Our business has been expanding rapidly over the last 5 years and we have a highly talented global team of over 150 people around the world.  In order to meet the changing needs of our business, we have created an exciting new role of Translation Project Manager in Kiel.

Your responsibilities:

  •  Effective management of translation/multimedia projects and high value repeat customers to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Ensure that all activities are consistent with and supportive of the business plan
  • Provide high level of customer service to align to company culture and brand

Relationship Management

  •  Identify opportunities for process improvement, revenue growth and increased revenue contribution
  •  Prioritise, effectively deliver and satisfy the business needs and business objectives
  •  Effectively work with fellow team members in large scale projects

Business Performance

  • Work with Account Manager and Business Relationship Managers to understand the customer’s requirements and take full ownership of job management from end to end.
  • Client liaison point of contact for queries in relation to job once quote completed.
  • Work with and assign jobs to contract translators from a wide diversity of cultural backgrounds and disciplines
  • Mark translator tests
  • Carry out the translation jobs for some projects or review of projects if required
  • Escalate potential issues to team lead without delay
  • Manage technical aspects of translation including multimedia production, multilingual web sites and interaction with our development team
  • Respond to client enquiries for translation projects
  • Prepare quotes/estimates for clients if required
  • Handle client feedback on translation projects
  • General administrative and office tasks as requested

Educational Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification in a business-related discipline (preferably university degree in translation) or equivalent experiential background.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  •  Customer obsessed – great customer service skills
  • Significant translator experience
  •  Proven experience in translation management systems
  • Knowledge and experience within the industry
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Positive attitude with a good sense of humour
  • Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic
  • High attention to detail
  • Good skills in active listening, speaking and social perceptiveness when interacting with customers and team members
